Description

Start the day at Monte Brasil, enjoying a panoramic view over the city of Angra do Heroísmo. We then follow the coastline to the Serretinha viewpoint, where you’ll spot the Ilhéus das Cabras islets, passing through the parishes of Ribeirinha and Feteira. After driving through the village of Porto Judeu, we head to the Salga Bay, a historic landmark in Portuguese history.

Next, we climb inland to the peaceful village of São Sebastião, home to one of the oldest churches in the Azores. Continue to Serra do Cume, and get ready to be amazed by the iconic "Patchwork Quilt" view over the largest caldera in the archipelago.

After a lunch break in the city of Praia da Vitória, the adventure continues with a climb to Serra do Facho, offering breathtaking views over the city.

We then head to the heart of the island to descend into the impressive volcanic cave Algar do Carvão. To end this unforgettable day, we visit the Natural Pools of Biscoitos, surrounded by characteristic lava rock formations and the island's famous vineyards.

** Please note: The Algar do Carvão is temporarily closed as of October 19, 2024, and will be replaced by a visit to Furnas do Enxofre.
